Getting to the clinic from Ridgewood

From northern Bergen the upper crossing usually wins:

  1. The Tappan Zee and I-287

Route 17 or the Garden State Parkway north to the Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge, east on I-287, then south on the Sprain Brook Parkway. About fifty minutes and far more predictable than the bridge.

  2. Down Route 17 to the George Washington Bridge

Route 17 south to Route 4 and across the bridge, then the Cross Bronx to the Hutchinson River Parkway. Shorter in miles; whether it is shorter in time depends on the approach traffic.

Questions from Ridgewood patients

What does medically supervised weight loss add over a GLP-1 prescription?

Three things. Labs first, to find whether thyroid, insulin resistance or hormones are driving the weight rather than assuming. A body-composition scan, so you can see whether you are losing fat or muscle — which the scale cannot tell you. And dose titration by a physician who adjusts based on how you actually respond rather than a fixed schedule.

Can Ridgewood patients be treated without coming to New York?

After the first visit, largely yes. New Jersey is one of the five states our providers are licensed in, so follow-ups, dose reviews and check-ins run by telehealth. The initial consultation, the full lab panel and the body-composition scan are done in person at Scarsdale, because that is where the baseline gets set.
